Oxygen gas which is very use full to living beings .Oxygen gas is also known as
the life gas to the living beings. Oxygen gas is used by the animals as well as
the plants and in the industrial area in large scale to produce the different
use full things.
At first the Oxygen gas is discovered by the famous
scientist J.Pristely. He is very intelligent scientist. This oxygen gas is
evolved in the environment itself but Pristely found that it can also be
produced in the lab.
This oxygen
gas can be prepared in the lab mainly by the two ways.
By the use of the heat.
By the use of heat oxygen can be prepared as
below (the process is explained below).
In the laboratory the arrangement of this
experiment consist of the hard glass test tube ,delivery tube and the gas jar
to collect the gas . Then The magnisedioxide and the potassium chlorate is
mixed in the ratio of the 1:4 in the hard glass tube and the hard glass tube is
heated at the temperature 240degree centigrade ,then the oxygen gas is evolved
and collected in the gas jar. The arrangement of this experiment is as shown in
figure. The following reactions are occurs in this experiment .
2KClO3+Mno2 2KCl+(MnO2)+3O2

Similarly it is
the one of the way to preparation of the Oxygen gas in the laboratory. This
experiment consist of the thistle funnel,
delivery tube ,gas jar as shown in figure below. In this experiment The
hydrogen peroxide and magnisedioxide are mixed with each other in a reacting
pot and after some time the oxygen gas start to evolve and collect in the gas
jar.In this experiment following reactions are occurs,
H2O2+(MnO2) 2H2O+O2
