Do you know what is computer?

What is computer ? it’s a simple question but its definition is more vast .It is the advanced developed electronic device machine which is design to work with the different information given by the user. The term computer is the Latin word. In Latin computer is written as “computare “which means  to calculate or programmable machine. Without any program computer cannot do anything so computer needs any program and information . It represent the decimal  numbers through the binary digits. The computer usually  submit to the central processing unit I.e. CPU and internal memory.

Charles Babbage is known as the father of the computer .At first Charles Babbage design the mechanical computer .It uses the Ram (Read only memory ) in the form of the punch cards .

Computer is an electronic device that takes the given data from the user as input and process that given data and gives the result (the result is known as the output )and saves  result for the future use .Both numerical and non numerical calculations are processed by the computer .

As the  modern computer has following basic components :                                             

       ¶        CPU known as the brain of the computer

       ¶       Input device

       ¶       Output device

       ¶       Mass storage device and memory .

Now days in the modern computer LSI chips are used .

The process of working of the computer can be written as,

Input takes the information given by the user and then the given data is processes by the CPU and the result is shown by the monitor as the output device and the internal memory saves the processed file .

Accepts the data given from the user ,	Input device
Process the data which is accepted by the input device,	CPU(central processing unit )
Gives the processed  result on the monitor ,	Output device

Classification of the computers on the basis of the power and size:

According to the function of the computer they can be classified in the following types ,

                Analog computer :-

A computer that presents the numbers by some continuously different physical quantities whose variations are imitate the properties of some system is being molded .

                PC(personal computer):-A personal computer is low cost I.e. not more expensive and it is small.A pc computer is cost less that of the cost of the desktop.

                Workstation :

                Minicomputer :

                Mainframe :

                Supercomputer: super computer are those computer which are very fastest and more expensive computer and it is the biggest .

                Microcomputer: IT is the small computer .In now days w

e can say that our personal computers are the microcomputer and it doesn’t cost more.
