Transformer changes the A.C.voltage without
change in power
The core of the transformer is laminated by the
selag and warnes .
·
The core of the transformer is laminated to
reduce the loss of the eddy current.Eddy current are the unwanted current
produce in the circuit.
·
The Eddy currents are produce within the core of
the transformer and results in the waste or loss of the current .
·
Eddy currents does not cause the spark.
·
IF Ns be the no. of turns of the coil
in the secondary coil and Np be the no of the turns of the primary
coil then the turn ratio of the coil becomes,
Ns
Turn ratio(n)------------
Np
·
Efficiency of the transformer is the ratio of
the out put power to the input power and multiplication by 100%
·
There are two types of the transformer,
Step up transformer
Step down transformer
·
In Step
down transformer the no. of turns of primary coil and the emf of the primary
coil is greater.
·
In Step
up transformer the no. of turns of
secondary coil and emf of the secondary coil is greater.
·
In transformer ,if dc is applied to the input
output is zero.
·
Dc cannot stepped up or stepped down by the transformer because
its output is zero.
·
Transformer doesn’t amplify the power.
·
Power dissipation in pure inductance and
capacitance is zero because the phase difference between the current and voltage
is 900.we know that the power dissipation is,
P=EIcos90
On solving p=o ,so that the power
dissipation is zero.
·
Wattles current is the current which donot
produce the any power when passed to the circuit.in this case also power
produce in the circuit is,
P=EIcos90
Because in this case also the phase
difference between the current and voltage is 90.so the power is zero.Hence
there is no power in the circuit.
·
Choke coil is pure inductive reactance which
have high resistance and which is used to control the current in Ac circuit.
·
Self inductance is the measurement of the electrical
inertia.
·
Impedence is the ratio of the emf of the circuit
to the frequency of the current in the
circuit.
·
Cathode rays are discovered by the sir William
crooks.
·
By the use of the discharge tube at low pressure
and temperature the cathode rays can be used.
·
Ac voltage cannot be used in the electroplating
.
·
In wattles
current the resistance is zero.
·
The ratio of the specific charge of the electron
is constant for the cathode rays .
·
Cathode
produces the X-ray on striking on the target having high atomic weight and the
melting point.
·
MKP ,power
is always lost in the resistor only.
·
Electric current moves with the transfer of the
electron in the circuit.
